International Women's Day - DIF Show Brief

Broadley Studio's recently hosted a complex live stream with DIF Capital Partners to mark the occasion of International Women's Day 2023. The event was held on Monday March 6th from here in our Marylebone studios with multiple global remote callers.

The show featured a thought-provoking panel discussion with a keynote speaker, Maggie Alphonsi MBE, a former English Rugby Union player, coach, and commentator. The panel discussion focused on a range of topics related to gender equality in the financial industry, inspiring role models, allyship, unconscious bias and personal experiences. All the panellists provided insightful views on each of the topics and offered thoughtful ways on how to take the next step in gender equality.

The Tech

The International Women's Day event was a success and only made possible by the hard work and dedication of the DIF team, supported by our Broadley Studio's production team. The speakers were able to deliver their messages effectively and engage with the audience, despite the complex technical requirements of the live stream. Due to delays with talent air travel, we had an unexpected issue with the lead presenter participating remotely rather than from on set in Studio 1. Our expert producer/director deployed various immediate testing solutions and we quickly mastered new platforms to broadcast out a seamless feed.

The live stream was produced with Broadley's in-house tech and crew using 4 FX9s, 4 Sennheiser Radio Mics, mixed on the Blackmagic 8K Constellation and a VMix to record.

Our Response

This event is a reminder of the importance of International Women's Day and the ongoing work required to achieve gender equality. The 2023 theme, #EmbraceEquity, encourages everyone to act and accelerate progress towards a more equal and diverse society.

Overall, our International Women's Day live stream was a great success, and it provided an opportunity for people to learn, share and engage on important issues related to gender equality. It is a testament to the commitment of both DIF and Broadley Studio to make a positive difference and promote equity and diversity in the workplace and beyond.
