The Brian Badonde Bodcast Has Landed… And Let’s Be Honest, It Feels Like a Reunion

By Richard Landy

The first episode of the Brian Badonde Bodcast has officially dropped, and it is everything you’d hope for and absolutely nothing you should be ready for.

Structured? No. Polite? Occasionally. Normal? Not even slightly.

Led by the brilliantly unhinged mind of Kayvan Novak, Brian Badonde is back doing what he does best: throwing people off balance, asking questions nobody prepared for, and somehow sliding between total absurdity and surprisingly genuine moments without warning.

And this time, he’s doing it from a clean, minimal set at Broadley Studios.

From Fonejacker to Brian Badonde

When we say the Bodcast has come “home”, what we really mean is this: Broadley has worked with Kayvan for over twenty years, across iconic formats like Fonejacker and Facejacker.

Those projects helped shape a whole era of British comedy, and they were made here, inside these walls, with many of the same people, spaces and creative energy that still exist today.

Less of an Interview, More of an Experience...

So having Brian Badonde now pacing the studio, sitting guests down and causing psychological unrest in a minimal, beautifully simple set feels less like a new job… and more like an old friend coming back with a very questionable new plan.

The Bodcast is already picking up real momentum, and the guest list alone explains why. So far we’ve seen Paloma Faith, Richard E Grant, Ella Eyre, Adam Buxton and Paul Anderson, with more names lining up behind the scenes. They arrive prepared for an interview. What they get is something closer to an experience.

One minute it’s wildly inappropriate. The next it’s unexpectedly sincere. Then it’s back to chaos again. Watching guests switch between laughter, confusion and real honesty is half the joy.

That’s the Brian Badonde effect.

Behind the Chaos, A Professional Set-Up

Filmed on a stripped-back, real-world set, the Bodcast keeps everything visually clean and focused. There are no distractions, no gimmicks, no over-designed background. Just Brian, his guest, and the absolute unpredictability of what is going to come out of his mouth next.

Captured with a Sony FX 3 multi-camera setup, every raised eyebrow, confused pause and uncontrollable laugh is locked in. The simplicity of the set allows the personalities in the room to do the heavy lifting, and where this podcast truly shines is in those raw, unfiltered moments.

Behind the chaos, of course, is a highly controlled and professional production.

Lighting is sharp. Sound is clean. The edit is polished.

It may feel wild, but it is executed with total precision, the kind you only get from a studio that has been doing this a very long time.

The Result

For Broadley, being part of this new chapter of Brian Badonde feels like a perfect continuation of a long creative relationship. To go from Fonejacker and Facejacker, to now hosting an entirely new generation of viewers through the Bodcast, is a reminder that some characters don’t just fade out. They evolve.

And they get weirder. Which is honestly what we were all hoping for.

Episode one is officially live, and if that’s the starting point, things are only going to get more ridiculous from here.

We can’t wait.
